Retatrutide updates

Only material developments are posted here. If nothing has changed, nothing appears — a quiet month is information too.

This is not a news feed about retatrutide. It is a log of changes to what isknown about it. An entry appears when a primary source establishes something new: an FDA action, a regulatory filing, a trial readout, a publication. Commentary, analyst notes and rumours do not qualify.

Also available as an RSS feed and asmachine-readable JSON.

  1. results

TRIUMPH-2 and TRIUMPH-3 report positive topline results

Lilly reported that both trials met their primary endpoint. With these two readouts, the company describes five Phase 3 retatrutide studies as positive. The cardiovascular event data in TRIUMPH-3 did not establish a benefit.

What did not change: None of these results has been through peer review. None of them changes the regulatory status. A trial meeting its endpoint is evidence for an application, not a substitute for one.

  2. regulatory

Lilly states it plans to submit retatrutide to the FDA in Q1 2027

Eli Lilly said it is completing the manufacturing data package for a Biologics License Application and plans to file with the FDA in the first quarter of 2027. Nothing has been submitted yet, and the FDA has not set any date.

What did not change: Retatrutide is still investigational. Nothing has been filed with the FDA, the FDA has not accepted anything, there is no PDUFA date, and there is no approval. The drug cannot be prescribed.

What counts as an update

An entry is published when one of these is established by a primary source: an FDA action or decision, a regulatory submission or acceptance, a Phase 3 trial readout, a peer-reviewed publication of trial results, a change in trial status on ClinicalTrials.gov material enough to matter, or a public statement by Lilly about regulatory timing.

Design changes, article edits and routine re-verification do not produce an entry, and never produce an email. The full editorial policy is here.
